ITER Organization and Japan sign first Procurement Arrangement

The ITER Organization is moving on from designing to procuring. On Wednesday November 28th, the Director General of the ITER Organization, Kaname Ikeda, and the Director for International Affairs Department, Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), Toshi Nagaoka, signed the first Procurement Arrangement between the ITER Organization and the Japanese Domestic Agency at the Chateau de Cadarache.

This Procurement Arrangement is for part of the conductor for the 18 Toroidal Field (TF) Coils that will confine the plasma within the ITER machine. “Being the first Procurement Arrangement, it clearly signals that ITER procurements have begun and on a big scale”, Kaname Ikeda, ITER Director General, said.  http://www.iter.org/news_text_28-11-07.htm

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FORUM ON ITER

On 10th – 14th December is there an International Conference on ITER Business Opportunities organized by the French ITER Industrial Committee and the CEA (the French Atomic Energy Commission – Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique).

Each participant in IBF/07 will receive the detailed list of other participants and will have access to an online service for pre-arranging 30-minute one-on-one meetings (on Monday afternoon and throughout Tuesday). These meetings will provide opportunities for initial contacts between future partners wishing to develop industrial, financial or operational synergies…
