Procurements from F4E
Details on all calls can be found here.
The following list gives a general overview of the main procurement activities being carried out.
Framework service contract for provision of sample characterization during the production of Nb3Sn strands to be used in TF conductors
Open Call for tender 145 with deadline September 20th, 2010
Object: Framework contract for determining the properties of the Nb3Sn strands at low and room temperatures. Thousands of tests are foreseen over 4 years.
Fabrication of prequalification semi-prototypes for ITER first wall (FW) panels
Open Call for tender 097 with deadline September 13th, 2010
Object:
- Lot 1: Design and fabrication of five small scale mock-ups and 2 different FW semi-prototypes of the Normal Heat Flux (NHF) design
- Lot 2: Design and fabrication of three small scale heat-sink mock-ups and three small scale Beryllium mock-ups of the enhanced heat flux design
Lots 1 and 2 are mutually exclusive.
ITER Poloidal Field Coils
Negotiated Procedure 086 with deadline September 13th, 2010
Object: Supply of the poloidal field coils 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, for which a dedicated assembly building is being built on site at Cadarache. Diameters of the coils range from 8m to 24m with weights comprised between 130t to 385t. The tender is split into three stages:
- Stage 1 (firm) – Manufacturing Preparation and Qualification.
- Stage 2 (option) – Fabrication of PF5 and PF6.
- Stage 3 (option) – Fabrication of PF2, PF3 and PF4.
Supply of preliminary fabrication & welding procedure specifications for Test Blanket Modules EUROFER subcomponents
Open Call for Tender 044 with new deadline August 20th, 2010
Object: Future fusion reactors will need to regenerate the tritium (T) consumed in the D-T reactions and to extract the thermal power generated by the plasma under economically sound conditions for electricity production. These functions shall be ensured by a so called tritium breeder blanket covering the inner side of the vacuum vessel and directly facing the plasma. For several years, Europe and other ITER parties have been developing tritium breeder blankets concepts that will be tested in ITER under the form of Test Blanket Modules (TBMs) located in equatorial ports of ITER. Up to 6 TBM concepts will be tested simultaneously in ITER.
Supply of 7 Vacuum Vessels Sectors
Negotiated Procedure 068 with deadline May 7th, 2010 (preliminary tender) and August 15th, 2010 (final tender).
Object: supply of 7 sectors of the Vacuum Vessel. Each sector is 11m high, 6m wide, is a double-wall stainless steel construction, each shell being 60mm thick. Each sector weighs 240t.
Presently, negotiation is underway with 2 consortia, whose members are posted here.
Please feel free to contact any of the firms in rank 1 if you have a specialty with which you can contribute.
A listing of competent Swiss metallurgical companies (from material suppliers to welding control) can be found here.
Procurements from ITER Organization
Details on all the calls can be found here.
May we remind you that the only requirement at the initial stage is to express your interest per email to ITER-Calls@f4e.europa.eu prior to the deadline with your postal address and contact person. Thereupon F4E will forward your email to ITER Organization in Cadarache, who in turn will send you the complete Terms of Reference. You may then decide if you can/want to submit an offer or not.
